Punjab Approves Rs. 4 Billion for College Teacher Intern Salaries

The Punjab Finance Department has granted approval for a sum of Rs. 4 billion to cover salaries and stipends for College Teacher Interns (CTIs) throughout the province. As per reports, these funds will first be disbursed to the Higher Education Department for disbursement to the interns. The Higher Education Department has already submitted a proposal to the authorities for approval to hire more than 9,000 CTIs for government colleges across Punjab.

The proposal is yet to receive approval from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Officials have confirmed that the Finance Department has finalized the requisite financial provisions. The allocated Rs. 4 billion will be transferred to the Higher Education Department upon approval of the recruitment proposal. The proposal aims to address teaching requirements in government colleges across the province.

Once the Chief Minister’s Office provides approval and funds are released, the Higher Education Department will commence the recruitment and placement process for the new CTIs. This move by the provincial government aims to fulfill teaching requirements in government colleges through the recruitment of temporary teaching staff.
