'Pew pew': cop allegedly confessed murders to friend

Senior constable Beau Lamarre-Condon allegedly confessed to murdering Network Ten presenter Jesse Baird and his partner Luke Davies in 2024 to a friend, according to testimony at the NSW Supreme Court. Lamarre-Condon, 31, pleaded not guilty, claiming he acted in self-defense during struggles with the victims. Damon Wilson, a former romantic rival of Baird, testified that Lamarre-Condon sent him a lengthy message on Instagram after spotting Baird and Davies having breakfast.

In the message, Lamarre-Condon allegedly expressed fear of potential suitors and warned Wilson to "trust your gut." Another close friend of Baird, Matthew Edwards, described their close friendship and said the officer's Instagram posts falsely implying Baird sent him flowers did not cause Edwards to feel unsafe. Defense barrister John Stratton SC suggested Lamarre-Condon's actions were "stupid" but not threatening. The trial, expected to last several days, continues.
