Packers’ Zach Bako-Bewele expects to miss rest of the season after tearing his patellar tendon

Packers offensive tackle Zach Bako-Bewele is set to miss the remainder of the season following a torn patellar tendon injury. The 27-year-old player, who changed his name from Zach Tom before the season, suffered the injury during the first quarter of a 20-17 overtime road victory against the New York Jets on Sunday. Bako-Bewele, who is planning to undergo surgery on Thursday, believes his recovery will take approximately nine months.

The offensive lineman, who had previously torn his patellar tendon in December, suffered the injury while blocking David Bailey during a third down incompletion. Packers receiver Jayden Reed, who also sustained a neck injury, was taken to a hospital in New Jersey for observation.
