OriginOS 7 Launches With Improved Performance and Apple Products Support

Vivo has introduced OriginOS 7, its latest Android-based operating system, along with the X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max smartphones in China. Built on Android 17, OriginOS 7 emphasizes enhanced touch responsiveness, smoother animations, and improved performance even under heavy workloads. The company claims the system will remain fluid even after six years of daily use.

OriginOS 7 introduces the next-generation Origin Smooth Engine, which revolutionizes graphics processing, memory management, and system scheduling. Additionally, Ultra-Core Computing dynamically allocates processing resources based on demand, ensuring optimal performance during intensive tasks. The software boasts a 10% improvement in app cold-start times and an 11% increase in switching between app pages compared to its predecessor.

Furthermore, the Memory Fusion system offers 60% greater memory reclamation and can free up to 25GB of additional storage on a 256GB device.

New animations and interface changes incorporate natural physics principles, with Fluid Motion animations mimicking liquid-like behavior. Interface elements can stretch, bounce, and merge based on user touch speed and direction. OriginOS 7's compatibility with Apple products allows users to connect their Apple Watch for notifications and sync health data through the Origin Health app.

AirPods battery levels can be displayed in the Origin Island interface, and Spatial Audio support is available. The Office Kit enables cross-device connectivity with iPads, macOS, and Windows, while Vivo's files can be accessed via File Manager.

Vivo's personal agent, Jovi, has been integrated into OriginOS 7 and the Office Kit. Jovi coordinates tasks across connected devices and supports scheduled tasks, with every autonomous action recorded and requiring explicit user authorization. The new Thematic Customization features include the Wiggle Theme, which turns photos into interactive, liquid-like surfaces; the Glint Theme, which creates realistic light and shadow effects based on device movement; and StickIt, which allows users to create dynamic collages from photos.

Additionally, Pet Pals feature interactive pets that respond to various device stimuli. OriginOS 7 is available via a Preview Program, serving as an open beta, for the Vivo X300 Pro and select iQOO devices in India, Thailand, and Malaysia.
