ONEUS sidesteps '7-year curse,' full lineup returns for 12th EP

For K-pop groups, the seventh year is believed to bring misfortune. Standard contracts typically expire around that time, causing members to contemplate solo endeavors or depart from the industry. However, the boy band ONEUS defied such expectations. The five-member group, consisting of Seoho, Leedo, Keonhee, Hwanwoong, and Xion, revealed they have no intention of disbanding.

Their decision to remain together was more of a collective choice than a difficult one. The band will release their 12th EP, titled FIRST LIGHT: 井, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. This marks their first release as a full lineup since Seoho completed his mandatory military service in August and since all five members relocated to B-Wave Entertainment earlier this year.

ONEUS originally debuted under RBW in January 2019, but parted ways with the agency when their contracts concluded in February. Upon the group's request, B-Wave acquired the intellectual property related to ONEUS from RBW, enabling them to continue under the same name. Keonhee, one of the group's members, expressed their smooth transition during an interview with The Korea Times in Seoul on Monday.
