Olopade promises better pay for Super Falcons

National Sports Commission Director General Bukola Olopade has pledged enhanced pay for the Nigerian Super Falcons football team. The announcement, set to be made soon, comes as part of the Federal Government's strategy to bolster sports development, particularly for women, according to Olopade. He emphasized that the initiative extends beyond major stadiums to encompass neighborhood facilities and assistance for state governments constructing or renovating sports venues nationwide.

Olopade highlighted the Nigeria Netball Federation as a prime example of increasing female leadership, noting that the federation boasts a female president and nine out of its 13 board members are women. He assured the D’Tigress team of government backing after their recent successful performance on the continent, reiterating President Bola Tinubu's promise of $100,000 to each player.

Olopade stressed his optimism, rejecting past failures and focusing on progress to revolutionize Nigerian sports through access, athlete development, infrastructure, and welfare.
