Nuggets among teams interested in Ryan Nembhard if waived by Charlotte

On September 22, the Charlotte Hornets acquired former Gonzaga point guard Ryan Nembhard from the Atlanta Hawks. The trade, which also involved Buddy Hield and cash considerations, was executed in exchange for Hornets forward Dorian Finney-Smith. Nembhard, an undrafted rookie who played 27 of 60 games for the Mavericks last season, was traded to Atlanta in July.

During his rookie year, Nembhard averaged 6.6 points and 5.3 assists per game while committing just 1.4 turnovers in 19.5 minutes on the court. He shot 41.5% from the field and 35.6% from three-point range. With the departure of All-Star guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves, upcoming point guard options for the Hornets include 26-year-old Coby White, veteran Dennis Schroeder, and rookie Christian Anderson.
