NPP alleges drug laboratories operating in Ghana under Mahama’s watch

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has accused the government of allowing drug traffickers to set up laboratories in Ghana for processing cocaine and other illicit drugs. NPP's National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, also known as Nana B, made the allegations during a press conference. Boakye claimed that these operations are occurring under the supervision of President Mahama and that the government officials are facilitating the transit of the processed drugs outside Ghana.

This, according to Boakye, explains the consistent presence of drugs seized from shipments and passengers' luggage in various international ports, including Sydney, Dunkirk, and Johannesburg. He provided evidence of a recent seizure by French customs, which recovered nearly 3.9 tonnes of cocaine worth an estimated €225 million. The shipment, concealed within a container of plastic waste exported from Ghana, was destined for Antwerp, Belgium, and has been linked to a network of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, also known as "Bolle Jos."

Several suspects have been arrested and charged by the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in connection with this case.
