Night Raider Strikes 12 Santa Pola Businesses

An 45-year-old man has been apprehended in connection to 12 burglaries at establishments such as bars, restaurants and commercial premises in Santa Pola. This arrest was made possible thanks to a collaborative operation between the Guardia Civil and the Santa Pola Local Police, who employed surveillance tactics to locate the perpetrator.

The probe commenced in May following reports from a hospitality business owner regarding the theft of €1,500 from their property. The Guardia Civil's Santa Pola unit later recognized a pattern of similar burglies targeting businesses throughout the town. These crimes typically occurred during the early hours of the morning and followed a consistent method.

The suspect is alleged to have targeted premises within the same vicinity before forcefully entering through shutters, doors or windows. Inside, he reportedly searched for cash, often in places like tills, safes and coin-operated machines. Law enforcement conducted thorough investigations, scrutinized security footage and recovered tools and other items possibly abandoned during one of the suspect's escapes.

After identifying a potential suspect, the Guardia Civil forwarded the information to Santa Pola Local Police. Both forces then initiated a series of surveillance operations aimed at apprehending him. The 45-year-old was eventually found and arrested by Local Police officers on suspicion of committing 12 counts of burglary. The case file was prepared by the Guardia Civil and submitted to the Elche Court of First Instance for further investigation. The suspect was subsequently released pending additional legal proceedings.
