New ‘Darkwing Duck’ Series Coming to Disney+ Starring Mark Hamill, Seth Rogen

Disney+ has announced a new "Darkwing Duck" series set to star Mark Hamill and Seth Rogen. The series, brought to life by EPs Sean Tretta and Borja Peña Gorostegui, will see Hamill take on the role of Drake Mallard, also known as Darkwing Duck. Seth Rogen will serve as an executive producer alongside Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee and Gabby Grantham, with original creator Tad Stones providing consultation.

The show's official synopsis reads: "A rebellious teen named Duckie, who is well-versed in Darkwing Duck's heroic past, appears to bring the iconic vigilante back into the fight. Together, the duo will confront old adversaries like Negaduck and Megavolt, and reconnect with allies such as Launchpad, Gosalyn and Morgana to save the universe."

Alongside Hamill and Rogen, the voice cast includes Lizzy Caplan, Lilimar, Dan Stevens, Tiffany Shepis, Kathryn Newton, Teo Briones, Tyler Dean Flores, Katie Rich and Nat Faxon. Point Grey Pictures, the production company behind the new series, expressed excitement about "getting dangerous" once again with Darkwing Duck, stating that they have maintained the show's Disney heart while amplifying the action and comedy.

The original "Darkwing Duck" ran for 91 episodes from 1991 to 1993 and is currently available on Disney+.
