Mirzapur Carpets, Lal Peda And Balushahi To Get Global Showcase At UP International Trade Show

Mirzapur, September 22, 2026: The Yogi government is set to host the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) in Noida, starting September 25. This event aims to elevate the district of Mirzapur's carpet and sweet industries on the global stage. Ten carpet merchants and two confectionery merchants from the region will exhibit their wares, alongside importers from 86 countries.

Sandeep Kumar, Dy. Commissioner of District Industries Promotion and Entrepreneurship Development Center, highlighted the significance of the trade show in offering new avenues for foreign buyers and traders. Amidst geopolitical tensions and shifting global trade dynamics, this gathering presents a golden opportunity for local participants to forge connections with international clienteles.

The participating carpet merchants, including M/S Ramashankar Carpet, M/S Shabnoor Carpet, and M/S Brijesh Dari & Carpet, along with local confectioners like Om Misthan Bhandar and Gurukripa Sweets, will showcase their products across different halls at the trade show.

The state government's One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, which has been instrumental in boosting Mirzapur's carpet industry, will facilitate this international debut. This scheme has provided crucial financial assistance and infrastructure development, leading to improved economic conditions for carpet weavers and their families. The One District One Cuisine (ODOC) initiative will also ensure that Mirzapur's renowned sweets, such as Lal Peda and Balushahi, are presented to a wider audience at the trade show.
