Miller available for selection despite not having a contract with CSA

David Miller, a South African middle-order batter, has stated he is available for selection for his national team, Cricket South Africa, irrespective of not having a contract with the body. Miller has agreed to play in the One-Day internationals against Australia, commencing in Durban on Thursday. His primary focus, according to Miller, is to represent South Africa.

With a commendable career record, Miller has already amassed seven centuries in One-Day Internationals, three of which were against Australia. The prospect of playing against Australia, he says, is a thrilling challenge for him. "I do enjoy playing against Australia. They've always been a really competitive team and incredibly highly skilled players.

So, playing against teams and players like that you always want to play the best, so it’s pretty much raising your standard," Miller remarked.

The significance of this match is amplified by the fact that it is hosted in South Africa, which is Miller's home ground. For Miller, who plays in several other leagues, this opportunity to represent his country is a top priority. Even though he has lost his contract with Cricket South Africa, Miller insists that his focus remains on representing South Africa.

The 37-year-old Miller is also enthusiastic about participating in next year's World Cup. He is aware that he will be competing with younger players for a spot in the squad, but he feels that this competition would ultimately benefit South African cricket.
