Maharashtra Tribal Development Department’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan To Focus On Welfare Delivery, Health And Education

The Maharashtra Tribal Development Department's Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, set to run from September 17 to October 17, 2026, aims to deliver welfare, health, and education benefits to tribal communities. During a review meeting chaired by Tribal Development Minister Ashok Uike, officials discussed meticulous planning and implementation of the campaign. Emphasis was placed on not only creating awareness about government welfare schemes but also ensuring eligible beneficiaries receive their benefits.

Activities under the campaign include competitions in drawing, elocution, essay writing, debates, and rangoli, as well as guidance camps for students preparing for competitive exams. Health check-ups, especially for haemoglobin testing, are being conducted in Ashram schools and hostels. Women farmers are being registered, and women's self-help groups are being strengthened.

Awareness programmes on various schemes, including forest rights and PESA, are being conducted at the village level, along with chariot campaigns, street plays, morning rallies, Seva Yatras, and beneficiary meets.

To ensure information reaches rural areas, initiatives such as cleanliness drives, yoga and meditation sessions, and de-addiction awareness programmes are being organized. Health check-ups, blood donation drives, tree plantation, cleanliness drives, and awareness about cleanliness and public participation are also being undertaken. Uike directed officials to focus on local needs and coordinate activities to ensure the benefits reach the last person in the tribal community.
