LSK raises land administration concerns during meeting with PS Korir

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has expressed concerns over land administration and conveyancing services challenges in Kenya during a meeting with Principal Secretary for Lands and Physical Planning Nixon Korir. The LSK delegation, led by President Charles Kanjama, presented these issues to Korir at Ardhi House in Nairobi. Key concerns included delays in land transactions, standardization of registry processes, valuation and stamp duty problems, and the National Land Information Management System (NLIMS) functionality.

The Society also proposed a stronger and more structured engagement between LSK and the State Department to tackle these challenges. LSK submitted a memorandum with its members' concerns and suggested measures to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in land administration. Following the meeting, both parties agreed to establish a technical engagement to address the raised issues, improve communication on delayed matters, and restore routine institutional consultations.

This engagement follows ongoing efforts to improve land administration and conveyancing services, which are vital for property transactions and the broader real estate sector.
