LG chairman widens AI data center partnerships with Big Tech firms

LG Group is broadening its collaborations with major technology firms in the artificial intelligence (AI) data center sector, with Chairman Koo Kwang-mo meeting key executives from Microsoft and Nvidia. These discussions, held on Monday at Microsoft's headquarters in Redmond, Washington, centered on potential partnerships in areas such as cooling systems, battery technology, and robotics components.

During the meeting, Koo and Satya Nadella, Microsoft's Chairman and CEO, explored strategic collaborations in AI data center infrastructure, AI transformation, and physical AI. In the realm of AI data centers, the two companies will investigate opportunities for LG to provide cooling, power, and infrastructure solutions to support Microsoft's global data center expansion.

In the immediate future, the focus will be on supplying LG Electronics' high-capacity cooling solutions for Microsoft's AI data center projects at crucial strategic locations. Over the medium to long term, the collaboration will expand to include the development of prefabricated data centers.
