LaLiga: ‘People don’t like that’ – Nacho reveals problem with Mourinho

Former Real Madrid defender Nacho Fernandez has spoken out about controversial remarks made by Jose Mourinho following their recent LaLiga match against Atletico Madrid. Mourinho criticized the referee's performance, suggesting that certain decisions were influenced, an opinion that does not sit well with everyone. The match, played on September 20, ended in a 2-1 defeat for Real Madrid, marked by several contentious calls during the opening half.

Despite this, neither Lee Kang-in nor Cristian Romero received red cards for their aggressive tackles on Federico Valverde and Jude Bellingham, respectively, leading to Real Madrid fielding just 10 men in the second half following Dean Huijsen's dismissal. In an interview with Cadena SER, Nacho defended the referee, acknowledging that mistakes are inevitable due to human error, but argued that the outcomes of such significant errors can decide the outcome of a match, as was the case on Sunday.

Mourinho, known for his candid nature, particularly in press conferences, is criticized by Nacho for his outspoken manner, which many find unpalatable. Nacho himself has spent almost two decades with Real Madrid, initially progressing through their youth system before making 16 appearances under Mourinho's management before leaving for greener pastures in 2024.
