La Liga chief dismisses Real’s ref conspiracy claims

La Liga president Javier Tebas has dismissed claims by Real Madrid that there is a refereeing conspiracy against the club. Real manager Jose Mourinho accused officials of making crucial errors following Real's 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid. Mourinho presented screenshots at a post-match press conference, arguing that Atletico should have been awarded two red cards in the first half.

Tebas responded on social media, stating that alleging referees are biased against Real Madrid is "living in another galaxy." He added that this narrative is used to mask other issues evident in the season's early matches. Tebas further claimed that focusing on a conspiracy is more comfortable than addressing the on-field realities.

Real responded by calling Tebas' comments "particularly serious and incomprehensible," accusing him of continuously trying to discredit their club. They demanded a president who serves the clubs with honesty and neutrality. Real are currently fourth in La Liga, six points behind leaders Barcelona. Mourinho, who accused officials of missing two clear red cards during the match, suggested that the lack of officiating clarity might make future games with 11 against 10 players even more challenging.
