Krankenversicherung: Höhere Beiträge für Gutverdiener – Bis zu 1220 Euro mehr pro Jahr

Starting in 2027, high earners in Germany can anticipate a significant increase in their social security contributions, potentially totaling nearly 1220 euros per year. This proposal, outlined in a draft regulation from the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, dictates that the contribution threshold for the statutory health insurance will rise from 5812.50 to 6375 euros per month.

This adjustment would also apply to the nursing insurance, rising from 8450 to 8850 euros, while the pension and unemployment insurance would see increases from 8450 to 8850 euros as well. However, potential modifications through the proposed Pflegeneuordnungsgesetz (Pflege Reform Law) could result in an even higher burden in 2027.

For a legally insured employee earning above these new thresholds in 2027, the reform would amount to approximately 102 euros more in social contributions per month or 1220 euros annually, assuming unchanged contribution rates and an additional 2.9% contribution from health insurance companies. Employers are typically burdened by the same amount, while those without children may experience slightly higher costs due to a nursing insurance allowance.
