Klopp factor makes the difference for Germany’s new faces ahead of debuts

HERZOGENAURACH, Germany (AP) — Jürgen Klopp's influence is evident even before his first game as coach of the German national team. The former Liverpool manager has called up 16 uncapped players in a larger-than-usual first roster of 44 for his inaugural four Nations League matches. This effort aims to revitalize Germany after another disappointing World Cup.

The presence of these young talent in the squad has inspired some players. Forward Younes Ebnoutalib, who was born in Germany but previously represented Morocco, said Klopp's involvement influenced his decision to choose Germany. "I am very, very proud. There were also talks with Morocco, but they weren’t as intense as with Jürgen," he remarked at the Germany training camp.

Defender Philipp Treu, one of four Freiburg players on track to make their national team debuts, echoed similar sentiments. "It’s definitely something where you say, ‘Hey, cool, that I can now train under Jürgen Klopp’,” he said. "And that’s why I’m just looking forward to being on the pitch with him later, soaking it all in, and just giving it my all."

Klopp's strategy includes rotating between two distinct squads. A second batch of players is slated to enter for games against Serbia on October 1st and Greece on October 4th. Treu's fellow Freiburg defender Max Rosenfelder expressed a personal connection with Klopp, calling him a "very, very special person" who can connect with people exceptionally well.
