Kerala Police arrest foreign women manufacturing MDMA in Delhi, bust drug network

The Kannur City police in Kerala have successfully arrested two foreign women who were allegedly manufacturing and supplying MDMA from Delhi, bringing an international drug trafficking network to a significant end. The arrested individuals, Chinelo Lilian, a 36-year-old Nigerian national, and Philomene Chanceline, a 30-year-old Cameroonian, were apprehended in Burari, Delhi.

This arrest came after a meticulous investigation that spanned across several states, initiated by the arrest of Rajinas in New Mahe, who was found in possession of 0.6 grams of MDMA. The police subsequently traced the supply chain to Muhammed Sameel, who was found to be distributing 185 grams of MDMA, along with information about Mujithaba, also known as Tabu, who acted as an intermediary.

Tabu was later apprehended in Bengaluru, and it was discovered that the drugs were being shipped to Kerala from Delhi via parcels. Following the lead provided by the Kerala Police, the Haryana Police arrested Tabu's associate, Arshad Ali, from Gurugram, with 800 grams of MDMA. Additionally, Abdul Rahman and Rishad, natives of Ernakulam, were arrested for their role in setting up fake documents, SIM cards, and mule bank accounts for the drug trade.

The investigation, directed by Kannur City police DIG K. Karthik and Kannur District Police Chief B.V. Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, involved the meticulous tracing of over 20 bank accounts and the systematic elimination of SIM cards to trace the intricate network. The Kannur police, along with units from Thalassery and DANSAF, worked tirelessly, stationed in Delhi for nearly ten days, to execute the arrest of the two women.

District Police Chief Vijay Bhaskar Reddy affirmed that the Kannur police would persistently combat the drug mafia, ensuring a formidable deterrent against such illicit activities.
