A man was arrested in Thailand after customs officials seized an estimated RM870,000 hidden inside a vehicle entering the country through the Sadao Checkpoint on Sunday. The spokesperson for Thailand's security explained that the seizure was the result of investigation and surveillance. Customs officers from the Customs Control Unit, the State Customs Office of Region 4, and Sadao Customs conducted a search of the registered Thai vehicle and discovered the hidden cash.

Valued at approximately 7.1 million baht, the money was stolen under Section 166 of the Thai Customs Act 2017, according to The Star. The man responsible for the cash may face charges under Section 242 in conjunction with Section 252 of the same act. The case has been forwarded to Sadao Customs for further action. Thailand's authorities are continuing their investigation into the source of the funds and their intended destination in the country.
