Jets Sign Former Second-Round QB After OT Collapse vs Packers

The Jets are signing Will Levis, a former Tennessee Titans quarterback, to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, the Jets are releasing Bailey Zappe from their practice squad.

Levis, 27, joins the Jets after being waived and then released by the Titans last month. The young quarterback, a 2023 second-round pick, has struggled to break through in the NFL but could benefit from this new opportunity with New York. Levis has made 21 career NFL appearances over two seasons, throwing 21 touchdowns, 16 interceptions, 3,899 passing yards, and achieving a 61% completion rate.

The Jets' decision to sign Levis comes after his impressive performance in the 2023 season, where he threw for 3,899 yards. After undergoing shoulder surgery last season, Levis is eager to regain his footing and make a positive impact with the Jets. If he impresses during his time on the practice squad, there may be a chance for him to be elevated to the active roster.
