Jeddah Corniche Road named after Prince Khaled Al-Faisal

Jeddah Mayor Ihsan Bafaqih announced that the 17-kilometer Corniche Road in Jeddah will be renamed Prince Khaled Al-Faisal Road. The renaming is in honor of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, who has been awarded the position of Advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Emir of the Makkah Region for an additional four years, as stated in a recent royal decree.

The prince's contributions to the development of Makkah, enhancement of services, and projects, as well as improvements to the quality of life in the region, are widely recognized. Jeddah Mayor described the prince as the "architect of development," highlighting his significant role in overseeing major infrastructure projects, developing waterfront areas, and improving transportation systems.

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal played a crucial part in transforming the Jeddah Projects Office into the Jeddah Development Authority in 2022, further boosting the city's historical and cultural significance. In 2017, he called upon the people of Jeddah to work towards making the city a world-class metropolis. The renaming of the road aligns with Saudi Arabia's 96th National Day on September 23, which celebrates the country's unification and development.

Prince Khaled Al-Faisal is known for his literary and cultural contributions to Saudi Arabia, with a focus on national values, pride in identity, and a strong sense of belonging. The 17-kilometer road runs through the Al-Shati and Al-Marjan districts, featuring strategic locations near waterfronts, star hotels, and tourist facilities along the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

This route is a key urban artery in Jeddah, connecting major roads like Sari Street, Hera Street, Prince Naif Road, and Al-Salam Street.
