Travis Hunter played a mere 37 snaps during the Jaguars' recent defeat, a trend that has persisted since the second overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. Despite entering the draft as an elite two-way prospect, Whitlock argues that Deion Sanders falsely sold Hunter as a versatile player capable of making history. Whitlock contends that Sanders should have been more honest, advising Hunter to focus on being a "shutdown corner" and limit his offensive snaps.

While Hunter has demonstrated flashes of brilliance as a cornerback for the team, he has struggled to adapt to the other end of the field. With his entire career still ahead of him, Whitlock maintains hope for Hunter's potential development into the elite two-way player initially touted by Sanders.
