Jaclyn Victor takes on career milestone with first solo MPO concert, tackling opera and reimagined classics at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 22 — In a career-defining performance, Jaclyn Victor will take the stage at Dewan Filharmonik Petronas on Oct 17 for her first solo concert accompanied by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO). Titled 'Jaclyn Victor - Gemilang Bersama MPO', the 90-minute show will feature around 20 songs, including reimagined classics and Italian opera pieces.

The experienced music conductor Ahmad Muriz Che Rose will lead the orchestra of around 20 musicians. Jaclyn, 48, described the opportunity as one of her biggest dreams, expressing gratitude for the honor. The concert showcases Jaclyn alongside other renowned Malaysian singers who have previously performed with the MPO. The 48-year-old noted the technical challenges and focus required for such an ambitious performance, yet welcomed the opportunity to expand her vocal capabilities.

The concert will also feature new symphonic compositions by various music arrangers and Jaclyn's popular songs given fresh treatments.
