Islamabad ATC returns Imaan, Hadi's bail pleas in protest case over absence of signed powers of attorney

An anti-terrorism court in Islamabad has returned bail petitions filed by lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha in connection with the Kohsar police station protest case. This comes over the absence of signed powers of attorney (vakalatnamas) and the failure to facilitate their signing by Adiala jail authorities. The court also issued notices to Adiala jail officials concerning their refusal to allow the signing of the documents.

Lawyers for the lawyers argued that they had made multiple attempts to obtain the necessary signatures, but the jail authorities had not facilitated the process. The court directed relevant authorities to respond to the application regarding the powers of attorney. Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra expressed concern that rules and regulations were being set aside when lawyers were involved, and promised to find a resolution to the matter.
