India news: Police investigate alleged gang-rape in Delhi

While India is fuming over a viral video of two minors being harassed in Bihar, a case of an alleged gang-rape of a minor has emerged in a posh Delhi neighborhood. Meanwhile, India's foreign minister is at the UNGA.

The Ghana Police Service has uncovered an alleged funding network behind the online activities of Barbara Asantewaa Kodua, widely known as "Ghana Jollof," as part of investigations into the dissemination of false news, inciting comments, and offensive behavior. According to Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), COP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Ms Kodua, believed to reside in the United Kingdom, is allegedly linked to Salomey Awiti Bafoh, a nurse based in Techiman, Ghana.

Ms Donkor stated that the Police have been monitoring a TikTok account under the name "Ghana Jollof" which allegedly published false news, inciting comments, and potentially violent content. It was identified that Ms Kodua was the owner of this account, and Bafoh allegedly assisted her by recruiting individuals to disseminate the videos across various social media platforms.

The police found financial links between the two suspects, with significant sums reportedly transferred from influential individuals to Bafoh, some of which were shared with Kodua and others involved in circulating the videos. Ms Bafoh was arrested on September 17, 2026, and charged with abetting crime for publication of false news.

She is currently in custody and is expected to reappear on September 30, 2026. Investigations are ongoing to locate other participants in the distribution of the videos and those suspected of secretly funding the activities. The police have urged the public to be cautious with their online activities and to respect the Electronic Transactions Act, 2008 (Act 772), and the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
