ICC took no steps to withdraw Netanyahu arrest warrant, deputy prosecutor says

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has not taken any actions to retract or rescind the arrest warrants or related applications against Israeli officials, according to Deputy Prosecutor Nazhat Shameem Khan. "The case is still proceeding," Khan stated in an interview with CNN. "We have not taken any steps to attempt to withdraw any of those arrest warrant applications or the arrest warrants themselves, and the team continues to investigate the situation."

In November 2024, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his then Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The warrants were issued for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Gaza since October 2023. Since the issuance of these warrants, the United States has imposed sanctions on a significant portion of the ICC's leadership, including former Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan, two Deputy Prosecutors, and nine judges, including the Court's President.
