'I don't have a buoyancy aid': Living without the Bank of Mum and Dad

Three women have shared their personal experiences of living without financial support from their parents, also known as the "Bank of Mum and Dad". Eleanor Bell, 23, from East Riding of Yorkshire, is struggling to find work despite having a first-class degree. She currently lives with her boyfriend but faces challenges due to her lack of a driving license in a rural location.

Sam Barrett, 24, from Sunderland, is studying part-time while caring for her mother, but finds it difficult to make ends meet with only a limited income from Careers Allowance and Universal Credit. Ezgi Polat, 23, from Cambridgeshire, lost her job a year ago and is now £4,000 in debt due to unpaid rent and bills. All three women feel that the financial support from their parents would have made life much easier for them.
