Menteri Ekonomi Akmal Nasir stated that the rising global oil prices will not disrupt the country's development plan under the 2027 Budget, despite the need to manage the impact of rising oil prices on subsidies and the nation's fiscal space. The country's development commitments at the Ministry of Economy will continue for the coming year, even though managing the impact of oil price fluctuations is crucial.

Akmal noted that the range of oil price increases remains uncertain due to various factors, such as fluctuations in Brent crude prices, which can be influenced by unpredictable factors. The Ministry of Finance will focus on managing the fiscal space impact, ensuring the national budget's deficit is effectively managed. Akmal emphasized that the issue of oil prices is significant for the nation, particularly in terms of subsidies and balancing the government's efforts to protect the public from supply disruptions while bearing fiscal burdens.

The Ministry of Economy's focus for the 2027 Budget is to ensure productive firms continue to grow and enhance vendors' technological and innovation capabilities. The global oil price movement is currently taking place in an uncertain market environment resulting from geopolitical developments in the Middle East, with Brent currently at USD100 per barrel.

The 2027 Budget, the fourth of its kind, will be presented in Parliament on October 9, with the government emphasizing its focus on growth, high-value jobs, competitiveness, and high-value economic development.
