GWC expands UAE presence, strengthening Qatar’s GCC market connectivity

Gulf Warehousing Company (GWC) has broadened its reach in the UAE, forming two new subsidiaries, partnering with Meydan Free Zone, and boosting its Quick-Commerce network. These moves fortify GWC's integrated regional footprint, linking customers in Qatar with resources and markets throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Over the first half of 2026, GWC amplified its UAE operations while managing sea-land and air-land pathways connecting Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Bahrain during times of regional turmoil.

GWC Group's UAE facilities, located at National Industries Park, link businesses in the Emirates with Qatar and the Group's extensive GCC logistics network. Building on this base and in response to persistent customer needs, GWC Group created two new subsidiaries in the UAE catering to commercial trading and energy sectors. The group also formalized a strategic alliance with Meydan Free Zone, linking company formation and market entry through Meydan with GWC Group's logistics and distribution network across Qatar and other GCC markets.

During H1, GWC Group managed three multimodal trade paths across the GCC, including a TIR-enabled air-land route via Hamad International Airport, offering supplementary choices for transporting urgent goods and customer shipments between Qatar and vital regional markets. Sheikh Abdulla bin Fahad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani, GWC Group's managing director, remarked, "The capabilities we have built in Qatar serve as the foundation for our regional expansion.

Our growth in the UAE is part of our long-term pledge to construct a more interconnected logistics network across the region. We will continually invest in infrastructure, advanced logistics solutions, and strategic partnerships that promote business continuity, broaden market access, and strengthen trade across the GCC." In addition to its UAE growth, GWC Group persistently expanded its operations in Oman and Saudi Arabia.

In the Sultanate, GWC Group enhanced its freight, contract logistics, cold-chain, and cross-border activities, including the completion of one of the Sultanate's initial frozen bulk vessel operations. In the Kingdom, the Group launched GWC Al Nakheel, a Grade-A ambient cross-docking facility in Jeddah, expanding its cold-chain and regional distribution capabilities.

GWC Group's regional logistics platform, covering 20 strategic locations across the GCC, extends to more than 120 countries via over 550 freight partners, houses more than 4 million square meters of logistics infrastructure, and facilitates the shipment of more than 2 million tonnes of freight annually.
