Giants QB Jaxson Dart exits with knee injury on first series vs. Rams

On Monday, New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart suffered an injury that may have been caught on camera through sideline lip reading. Dart was sandwiched uncomfortably during the game against the Los Angeles Rams, leading him to seek medical attention and eventually the locker room. Head coach John Harbaugh posted a screenshot of the incident, leading to speculation about the length of Dart's absence.

Early indications suggest that Dart will be out for 4-6 weeks. Jameis Winston took over as the starting quarterback for the remainder of the game. Dart was replaced by the veteran backup, but his injury even drew cringes from Giants legend Eli Manning during the "Manningcast" with his brother Peyton. Dart initially grabbed his knee while on the ground, managed to walk off, but never returned to the game.

The injury also affected the Giants' offense, causing struggles from there on. Backup quarterback Jameis Winston managed to hit a few big passes, but those drives stalled, resulting in Winston throwing for 58 yards and one interception, and being replaced with a scoreless halftime. Wide receiver Malik Nabers suffered a leg injury but managed to return to the game before halftime.

Dart was officially ruled out with his left knee injury and underwent X-rays in the locker room. The Giants decided to sit him out for the remainder of the game.
