France's Macron says ‘shame on all of us’ for Gaza inaction

French President Emmanuel Macron declared that the situation in Gaza was an embarrassment for all of humanity during his final speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York. He questioned the credibility of the world if it remained passive in Gaza, stating that the lack of humanitarian aid in the region was a disgrace.

Macron urged the international community to opt for the United Nations over a "law of the jungle," asking whether they preferred a chaotic environment or a civilized global society. He emphasized the importance of holding firm at the UN to make decisive choices for people to exercise their freedom of choice. Macron further pledged to sustain support for the International Court of Justice and its central role, condemning the "new order of impunity" being attempted by some.

He also called for the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened, warning against using the waterway for blackmail purposes.
