Former CSK player Vansh Bedi threatens legal action over 'fixing' claims

Vansh Bedi, a former player of the Chennai Super Kings, has vehemently denied any involvement in match-fixing allegations that have surfaced following a sting operation. The controversy centers around reports that a CSK player was allegedly involved in fixiñg matches during the 2025 IPL season. However, Bedi, who played for the Delhi Premier League team Central Delhi Kings in the same season, categorically rejects these claims as false and defamatory.

According to a statement released on Instagram, Bedi stated that he is not the unnamed player mentioned by Rachit Bhatia, a former domestic cricketer, in the Tehelka sting operation. Bedi also asserts that he had no involvement in any activities described in the sting, emphasizing that his legal team is taking "appropriate civil and criminal action" against those responsible for spreading such allegations.

The controversy has garnered attention online, despite Bhatia's sting operation not publicly identifying Bedi as the player in question. Some details mentioned by Bhatia seem to align with Bedi's recent cricket career. In the sting, Bhatia claimed he received advance information about the playing XI of the Chennai Super Kings during the 2025 IPL and passed it on to bookmakers through Snapchat, allegedly earning Rs6 million per match, totaling Rs30 million.

He identified a friend associated with the CSK set-up as his source, which has led to speculation about Bedi's involvement.

Bedi's participation in both the IPL and DPL during the 2025 season may have contributed to the speculation. He was sidelined from the IPL due to an ankle ligament injury and later appeared in the DPL. Despite these claims, Bedi maintains his innocence and vows to pursue legal action against those spreading these unfounded allegations.
