Epson Expands Its Home Theater Projector Line

Epson has recently expanded its home theater projector line with the debut of several new models. The company's 2022 LS11000 laser-lit 4K projector has been joined by more affordable options to maintain the line's offerings. All new projectors in the lineup are 4K and laser-lit, including the updated LS11000, which now retails for $4,500, a slight price increase from its previous $4,000.

At the lower end of the budgetary spectrum, the LS5000 is priced at $2,000 and boasts a projection brightness of 2,500 lumens. The projector supports two HDMI inputs and features a throw ratio of 1.32 to 2.15, allowing placement approximately 11.5 feet away for a 120-inch screen. Users can also connect Bluetooth headphones for private movie nights without disturbing others.

The LS6000, priced at $2,200, enhances the brightness claim to 3,400 lumens, exceeding the LS11000's projection. However, Epson rates the LS6000 and its other new projectors as having lower contrast ratios. Despite this, the LS6000's features match those of the LS5000.

For those seeking shorter throw distances, the $2,200 LS6000 and LS7500 present themselves as ideal choices. The LS7500 features a slightly higher brightness rating of 3,500 lumens and a throw ratio of 1.0-1.3, requiring a distance of 8.8 feet to produce a 120-inch image. This short-throw variant is likely better suited for smaller rooms, offering an alternative to traditional short-throw setups. New LS models will begin shipping later this month, with Epson awaiting review in the near future.
