A Spanish court is close to bringing charges against Glovo's chief executive, �scar Pierre, for employing workers as false self-employed individuals despite prior court orders. The court has concluded its investigation into the case, which was opened after a prosecutor's complaint, and has given both parties ten days to submit their written statements before the case is forwarded to trial.

The court ruled that Glovo employs workers who are required to resign from the special self-employment regime and pay their own social security contributions to continue providing services to the company. Despite multiple Supreme Court rulings affirming the workers' labor status, Glovo continues to maintain the same employer-employee relationship, requiring workers to register as self-employed and pay their own contributions to stay with the company.

The employees continue to perform their delivery duties under the same conditions they had before, without being recognized as workers under this arrangement. Glovo's CEO announced in December 2024 that he would change the hiring model to ensure social peace, claiming the previous system was also legal.
