Egypt stresses protection of workers in Lebanon, stronger labor cooperation

Minister of Labor Hassan Raddad emphasized on September 21, 2026, the significance of bolstering Egypt's labor representation office in Lebanon to safeguard Egyptian workers, oversee their conditions, and advocate for their interests. In a meeting with Egypt's Ambassador-designate to Lebanon, Tamim Khalaf, Raddad discussed enhancing cooperation and coordination on labor matters during Khalaf's tenure.

The dialogue centered on the well-being of Egyptian workers in Lebanon, strategies to improve their care and monitoring, as well as fostering collaboration between the two nations in labor mobility, knowledge exchange, vocational training, employment, and occupational safety and health. Both parties also explored accelerating the integration of electronic connectivity between Egypt and Lebanon in the labor sector, aiming to streamline labor mobility, facilitate data and information sharing, and reinforce institutional cooperation frameworks.
