DPM Dar calls for full implementation of Gaza Peace Plan

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasized Pakistan's steadfast support for the Palestinian people and emphasized the importance of fully adhering to the Gaza Peace Plan and Security Council Resolution 2803. During a meeting of the OIC Committee of Six on Palestine, held outside the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Dar expressed deep concern over the conditions in Gaza and the West Bank.

He acknowledged the mediation efforts of the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye aimed at advancing the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, as approved by UN Security Council Resolution 2803.

Dar strongly denounced ongoing Israeli violations at Al-Aqsa Mosque and Al-Haram Al-Sharif. He also expressed worry over illegal settlement activity, settler aggressions, and annexationist measures in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. The deputy prime minister called for renewed and coordinated diplomatic action by the OIC to address these issues.

Dar emphasized that reconstruction and governance arrangements in Gaza must remain Palestinian-led, with the Palestinian Authority playing a central role, and called for accountability for violations of international law and international humanitarian law.

Pakistan's stance supports the creation of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, and calls for Palestine's full membership in the United Nations.
