Deniz Undav reacts to Germany national team snub

Deniz Undav expressed disappointment after being left out of the Germany national team's upcoming UEFA Nations League games following Stuttgart's 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund. In an interview with Sky Germany, the 30-year-old striker stated that he believed his performance during the World Cup and with the national team would have earned him a spot in the squad by now.

Undav, who was part of the national team during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, admitted that he may need to once again prove his worth and demonstrate that he belongs to be included in future squads. He stated, "I have to prove myself again, give everything again, and show another coach once more that I belong." Undav scored three goals and provided two assists for the national team at the World Cup but has yet to find the back of the net for his club this season.

Germany coach Jürgen Klopp called up a larger squad of 44 players, but chose to exclude Undav, favoring young and new players instead. The exclusion of Undav has sparked strong reactions from German fans on social media who believe he should have been included in the team.
