CM inaugurates digital classrooms, satellite schools for children with disabilities

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah inaugurated an array of educational initiatives for children with disabilities in Pakistan. At the inauguration event, Shah highlighted the government's dedication to inclusive and technology-driven education, unveiling 49 Digital Classrooms and 20 Satellite Schools across Sindh. The facilities aim to provide modern learning tools, smartboards, and e-learning resources to approximately 754 deaf students and 476 children previously with limited access to specialized education.

Additionally, Shah launched a Sign Language Teachers’ Training Programme to bolster teachers' capabilities and promote Pakistan Sign Language as a critical tool for inclusive education. The chief minister stressed that while technology enhanced learning, skilled educators remained vital. He also announced a monthly stipend of Rs 3,000 for approximately 20,000 students enrolled in 67 specialized institutions, alongside rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and speech therapy services.

The DEPD collaborated with Deaf Reach and the Family Educational Services Foundation (FESF) to implement the program, with the aim of expanding access to quality education in remote and underserved areas.
