Casanovas Orchestra Triumphs in Orihuela with The Sound of Music

On Saturday, September 19, Orihuela's La Lonja Auditorium was packed to the rafters as the Casanovas Orchestra performed their concert, The Sound of Music. The show featured soloist María Sabater and was directed by José Francisco Sánchez, with narration by José Miguel Toro. The script and musical arrangements were crafted by Juan Francisco Cayuelas.

Technical support came from Aylín Aldinger, while Miguel Guerrero handled stage management. The concert was so well-received that over 100 eager fans had to turn away, as the auditorium reached capacity. The event was organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Culture, Equality and Diversity at Miguel Hernández University of Elche, in partnership with the Orihuela Council.

A coach from Torrevieja also arrived, bringing 50 members of the Francisco Casanovas Association to show their support.

The concert was enhanced by a visual presentation showcasing Austrian landscapes and scenes from the beloved film, The Sound of Music. Students from the ArtkHome Academy, led by Taras Khomyak, joined the performance, performing pieces such as "Do-Re-Mi," "Edelweiss," and "So Long, Farewell" alongside Sabater and the orchestra. The audience was fully engaged, singing along to the popular tunes.

As the concert concluded, the crowd gave the orchestra and other performers a standing ovation, eagerly anticipating a final treat. The Casanovas Orchestra returned to the stage for an encore performance of "Do-Re-Mi."

Notable attendees included María Asunción Amorós, Miguel Hernández University's Vice-Rector for Culture, Equality and Diversity. The Casanovas Orchestra's next concert is scheduled for October 17 at the Torrevieja Municipal Theatre, starting at 7pm.
