Broncos have 5 players on injured reserve going into Week 3

The Denver Broncos have five players on injured reserve as they prepare to begin the 2026 NFL season in Week 3. Two of these players, offensive tackle Frank Crum and tight end Caleb Lohner, are currently on short-term injured reserve. This status allows them to return to the team after a four-game period. However, Lohner is anticipated to miss a more extended period, potentially until the middle of the season.

Another player, offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo, is on the reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Like Crum and Lohner, Gargiulo is also eligible to return after a four-game span. The Broncos have three additional players on season-ending injured reserve: center Michael Deiter (quad injury), defensive end Matt Henningsen (Achilles injury), and linebacker Levelle Bailey (broken leg).

Before Week 1, linebacker Drew Sanders was removed from the injured reserve list. Gargiulo was previously taken off the injured reserve list before the start of Week 1. Outside linebacker Jonathon Cooper is currently on the commissioner's exempt list, but this is not due to injury. Instead, Cooper will have a trial by jury in mid-November concerning a felony assault case.

With the 53-man roster and 17-player practice squad, the Broncos have a total of 77 players under contract for the coming season.
