BJP Telangana chief Ramchander Rao arrested en route to Jurala project protest

BJP Telangana chief N. Ramchander Rao was apprehended en route to protest at the Jurala irrigation project on Tuesday, as farmers demanded release of water to save their crops. He was taken to the district police training centre. The arrest drew sharp condemnation from senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar and MP D.K.

Aruna. Other party leaders were placed under house arrest. The party questioned the state government's commitment to farmers and warned of serious consequences if water was not released promptly. The BJP accused the Congress government of employing repressive tactics, claiming their actions were more severe than during the previous BRS regime.
