[Asian Games] S. Korea picks up silver in mixed team shooting event

Nagoya, Japan - South Korea claimed silver in the 10-meter air rifle mixed team event at the Asian Games on Tuesday, marking their first silver in the sport after securing two bronze medals earlier. Ban Hyo-jin and Park Ha-jun secured the runner-up position with a total score of 502.9 points in the final held at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery in Toyota, located approximately 25 kilometers east of Nagoya.

The Chinese duo of Wang Zifei and Sheng Lihao emerged as the gold medalists with a world record total score of 507.1 points. Japan secured the bronze with a score of 439.7 points, while India finished last in the four-team final with a score of 376.3 points. Ban Hyo-jin and Park Ha-jin had previously won bronze medals in the women's and men's 10m air rifle events, respectively.

During the mixed team final, each shooter fired 15 shots, totaling 30 shots per team, in Stage 1. The ideal score in this stage is 10.9 points. Following Stage 1, each shooter took three shots, resulting in six shots per team in Stage 2. The team with the lowest score in this stage was relegated to fourth place.
