Amir affirms path to peace, stability in the Region is Through Dialogue and Just Resolutions

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Amir of Qatar, has stated that the path to peace and stability in the region can only be achieved through dialogue, negotiation, and just resolutions based on international law, as well as respect for state sovereignty and the rights of people.

In a recent post on his official X account, HH the Amir emphasized that Qatar's approach has been shaped by the Founding Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani to his late father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani. This approach balances steadfastness with flexibility, prioritizing the country's interests, its people, and those residing on its soil above all else.

Qatar continues to uphold this approach, fulfilling its role as a reliable mediator and peace facilitator while serving as an open platform for dialogue, cultural exchange, and the sharing of ideas and experiences. HH the Amir reiterated his call for a regional system of collective security during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, stressing that unresolved conflicts only escalate and become more costly over time without a just resolution.

The Amir affirmed once again that the quest for peace and stability in the region is dependent on dialogue, negotiation, and just solutions derived from international law, alongside respect for state sovereignty and the rights of peoples.
