Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has disclosed that all his children backed Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate, in the 2023 election. This revelation came during an interview on TVC News, shared on Monday. Wike attributed his children's support to the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket controversy surrounding the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the 2023 election.
He believes the current administration, led by President Bola Tinubu, has resolved these issues. Wike noted that "All my children supported Peter Obi. But now, they are saying that they never knew this man, Peter Obi, was like this." He added, "There are a lot of people who were carried away, but that is no longer there now. Tinubu has been able to kill the Muslim-Muslim ticket problem."
Wike further stated that Obi, who is now the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), is unlikely to secure victory in the 2027 presidential election.
