93 year old woman donates four land plots to Priest Hospital

A 93-year-old woman bestowed four plots of vacant land upon Priest Hospital yesterday, September 21, on September 21, 2023. The generous donor, Manatsiri Ampunan, who holds the position of special group captain, presented three plots each measuring approximately 800 square meters, along with a fourth plot roughly 240 square meters.

Collectively, these four parcels span a total of about 2,640 square meters. The transfer ceremony occurred at the hospital's donation point in the foundation building. The hospital's deputy director for administration, Dr. Mon Deeduangphan, and the head of the general administration unit, Sergeant Major First Class Rewat Srihokaew, formally accepted the land on behalf of the institution.

Hospital officials expressed their gratitude to Manatsiri and her family for the donation, subsequently presenting her with a commemorative gift. Priest Hospital stated that the donation would significantly enhance its efforts in providing medical care to Buddhist monks and novices. The hospital's website notes that it offers specialized medical treatment for monks across Thailand, adhering to strict Buddhist monastic discipline.

In addition to patient care, the hospital engages in research, medical training, and develops healthcare practices tailored specifically for monks. Recognized as the sole state-established hospital in Thailand and worldwide established with the sole purpose of providing medical treatment for Buddhist monks and novices, the hospital was founded to ensure monks and novices receive treatment within an environment that aligns with monastic rules. This environment differs from general hospital facilities shared with lay patients.
