51 doctors, 1,800 engineers: Madhavan hails Suriya’s Agaram

Actor R Madhavan has expressed admiration for Suriya's educational initiative, Agaram Foundation, after sharing a post showcasing the success of students the organization has supported. Posting on his Instagram Stories, Madhavan used a salute emoji to commend the foundation's efforts in helping students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Instagram post mentioned that 51 students backed by Agaram had become doctors, while approximately 1,800 had pursued careers in engineering. However, the foundation's official website currently lists over 70 doctors and more than 1,750 engineers among its beneficiaries. Founded by Suriya, Agaram Foundation aims to remove financial and social obstacles to higher education.

The organization offers financial aid, mentorship, and hostel facilities, with a special focus on first-generation learners. One of its key programs, Vidhai, provides college tuition assistance, mentorship, and ongoing support to first-generation students. Agaram claims its Vidhai program has aided around 6,000 students over two decades, many of whom were the first in their families to attend college.

Madhavan and Suriya have a long-standing friendship, which began in 2004's Aayutha Ezhuthu. Suriya also made a cameo in Madhavan's first film as director, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, released in 2022. Both actors have publicly supported each other's endeavors. Recently, Suriya complimented Madhavan's performance in GDN, while Madhavan recognized Suriya's backing for his projects.
