세종대 경영전문대학원, 2027학년도 ‘AI 기술경영 DBA’ 신설

Sejong University's Graduate School of Business Administration (GEB) announced the establishment of a new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program focusing on AI technology management, slated to begin in the 2027 academic year. This program is designed for experienced management professionals who wish to develop expertise in navigating the rapidly changing landscape of business due to advancements in AI and data technologies.

The unique DBA program aims to cultivate top-level executives capable of driving innovation in companies and industries by combining technical understanding with managerial skills. Unlike traditional PhD programs, this program prioritizes real-world problems faced by companies and organizations as its research starting point, focusing on developing innovative theories and academic research based on practitioners' experiences and knowledge.

The curriculum covers the impact of AI, data, platforms, and digital transformation on business strategy, operations, and decision-making from a technology management perspective. Students will learn to apply these insights in practical research settings and develop actionable solutions to real-world problems. The program spans three years, with a total of 36 credits required for completion.

Foreign language and comprehensive exams are waived to reflect the program's practical nature. The doctoral thesis can be based on theoretical development and validation, case studies, or applied research focused on solving current issues. This approach encourages practical research that addresses the challenges faced by businesses and industries.

Classes are scheduled from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, accommodating working professionals and managers. Candidates with at least five years of practical experience will receive preference, but the program accepts applicants from all backgrounds. The university aims to create 'Executive Scholars' who can bridge academic research with real-world problem-solving and contribute to the innovation of businesses and industries through this program.
