11 injured as worker transport truck overturns in Chonburi

Chonburi — On September 22, 2026, a tragic accident occurred when a six-wheel truck transporting workers overturned on the inbound side of Route 36 in Chonburi’s Bang Lamung district. The collision took place near kilometer marker 3+600 on Moo 3, Nong Pla Lai subdistrict, along the Krating Lai-Rayong route towards Pattaya. Rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya arrived promptly, bringing ambulances, rescue equipment, and volunteers to the scene.

Bang Lamung Police Station, alongside medical teams from Pattaya Patamakul Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, and Pattaya City Hospital, joined the rescue efforts. The truck, registered in Maha Sarakham province, ended up overturned on the left roadside shoulder. Emergency responders found 11 injured individuals, comprising nine men and two women, with injuries ranging from minor to serious.

The driver, aged 56 and named Chaiya Mayotha, informed authorities that he was tasked with transporting workers from Rayong province to a company in the Si Racha district of Chonburi. According to Chaiya, he was driving in the middle lane when the truck approached the accident site, which had slippery road conditions. In an attempt to avoid colliding with a pickup truck in the right lane, he attempted to steer the truck back to the left.

Unfortunately, this maneuver caused the truck to lose control, resulting in an overturning off the road.

Bang Lamung police thoroughly investigated the scene, collecting crucial evidence. They plan to question the driver, the injured passengers, and other witnesses to ascertain the precise cause of the accident and take any necessary legal actions.
